Tuesday 28th July 2026 marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter as we proudly introduced Nottingham Forest Foundation.

Only a day later, we are taking the next step by publishing our Strategic Game Plan 2026–2031 – a clear roadmap for how we will build healthier lives, stronger communities and greater opportunities across Nottinghamshire over the next five years.

Our Strategic Game Plan sets out where we are going.

Rooted in Nottinghamshire and empowered by Nottingham Forest Football Club, the strategy outlines our long-term commitment to tackling inequalities, improving health and wellbeing, and creating opportunities for people of all ages to reach their potential. It has been developed in response to growing demand for our services and the increasing challenges facing many communities across the county.

At the heart of the strategy is a simple vision: a healthy, connected and ambitious Nottinghamshire where everyone can reach their potential.

Our mission is to deliver trusted programmes that improve health, wellbeing and opportunity, helping people and communities across the county thrive.

The Strategic Game Plan is built around three interconnected priorities.

PLACE:

Focuses on creating stronger communities by developing safe, inclusive spaces and delivering programmes where they are needed most. We want more people to have access to trusted community hubs that bring people together, remove barriers to participation and improve local wellbeing.

PEOPLE:

Is centred on supporting individuals, communities and our workforce. Through trusted relationships, inclusive programmes and investment in our people, we will continue to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing while helping more people stay connected to their communities.

POTENTIAL:

Is about creating opportunities that change lives. Whether improving physical and mental wellbeing, progressing into education, training or employment, or developing new skills and confidence, we want every participant to leave our programmes better equipped for the future.

Supporting these priorities are seven ambitious organisational goals for 2031. These include reaching more people in the communities that need us most, developing stronger community hubs, improving health and wellbeing, creating clearer pathways into education and employment, supporting positive personal development, increasing the use of our community spaces and building a resilient Foundation capable of delivering lasting impact for generations to come.

The strategy is grounded in evidence as well as ambition. It includes some key results from our latest independent three-year impact study, which highlighted the positive difference our programmes are already making across Nottinghamshire. Participants reported improvements in physical wellbeing, confidence and personal development, while more than nine in ten progressed into further activity, education, employment or training.

Looking ahead, we will continue to work alongside Nottingham Forest Football Club, local authorities, schools, businesses, healthcare partners and community organisations to maximise our collective impact. By investing in partnerships, trusted community spaces, sustainable income and evidence-led delivery, we will ensure the Foundation continues to grow while remaining focused on the people and places that need us most.
