Foundation Host Successful Matchday Walk & Talk

We were delighted to team up with TimeOut Recovery ahead of the Arsenal fixture to host a special Matchday Walk and Talk, bringing supporters together in a relaxed, welcoming environment ahead of kick-off.

The walk was a fantastic success, highlighting the incredible power of football to tackle social isolation, promote positive mental wellbeing, and create safe spaces for conversation.

Delivered by the charity Double Impact, TimeOut is a specialised service providing free, confidential, peer-led support across Nottingham for anyone affected by gambling-related harms and associated mental health challenges.

Ahead of the match, fans gathered to walk, talk, and connect, proving just how important it is to break the stigma surrounding mental health and open up about life’s challenges – including providing vital support for those affected by gambling-related harm.

Colin Eley, Health and Wellbeing Manager at Nottingham Forest Foundation, said:

“It was fantastic to see so many supporters coming together ahead of the match for our Walk and Talk event with TimeOut. Football has a unique ability to unite people, and creating a relaxed space where fans feel comfortable opening up about their mental wellbeing is so important. Events like this remind us that our community is there for one another, both on and off the pitch.”

Events like our Walk and Talk remind us that open conversations can change lives, which is why the Nottingham Forest Foundation is committed to keeping this momentum going.

As part of the Premier League’s ‘Together against Suicide’ campaign, we are proud to be hosting a dedicated ‘Tricky to Talk’ Matchday Hub at every single home game.

Whether you’re having a tough week, looking for a friendly face to chat with, or simply need a safe space to pause and catch your breath before kickoff, our hub is here for you. No one in our community should ever feel like they have to walk alone.

Keep an eye out for the Tricky to Talk Matchday Hub at our next home fixture.
