Callum Hudson-Odoi surprises Pupils for ‘No Room for Racism’

Pupils at Porchester Junior School experienced an unforgettable day when Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi paid a surprise visit to their classroom to support the Premier League’s No Room For Racism campaign.

As a Premier League Primary Stars partner school, Porchester Junior School welcomed the Forest star into a Year 5 and 6 classroom session led by Nottingham Forest Foundation’s Premier League Primary Stars Coach. The interactive anti-racism workshop provided pupils with a safe, open space to explore key themes around diversity, allyship, and standing up against discrimination.

The highlight of the surprise classroom visit came when Callum met Oliver, a passionate Nottingham Forest fan in year 3. On top of chatting face-to-face with Callum, Oliver was blown away when the Forest player arranged a live FaceTime call with Oliver’s favourite player, Igor Jesus.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, Nottingham Forest player, said:

“The Premier League is made stronger by people from different cultures and backgrounds coming together and that’s something we should celebrate. Through No Room For Racism, the Premier League, Nottingham Forest and all clubs are united in saying that discrimination has no place in football.

We have to understand that everybody is equal, no matter who you are or what you do, we’re here to understand each other properly and to get the best out of each other. It’s always about positivity and bringing positive energy in the world.”

Richard Younger, Premier League Primary Stars Coach, said:

“Delivering these No Room For Racism workshops in our partner schools allows us to address really important topics in a way that resonates with young people. Having someone like Callum walk into the classroom brings the lesson to life in an extraordinary way. Seeing how engaged the pupils at Porchester Junior School were – and watching their reaction when Callum walked in – shows just how powerful football can be in educating and inspiring the next generation to champion equality.”

Moments like these highlight the true heart of Nottingham Forest Foundation’s work across Nottinghamshire. By connecting Premier League role models directly with local classrooms, the Foundation continues to break down barriers, champion diversity, and build a safer, more inclusive community for the future.
